Knitty Sister strikes again!

Just had to share with you what my Knitty Sister is up to these days.  She just fnished up making this amazing felted wool tote bag.  It is just wonderful.  She made it for her daughter, my Sweet Niece, as a gift. The leather harness-like embellishment is so fitting for my niece, because she is a horse owner.  I helped Knitty Sister make the lining for it today. We used a lovely fat quarter of Comma by Zen Chic for the lining.  We are going to use large buttons to attach the lining.  Very cool!

Knitty Sister rocks!

A scrappy day!

My Kona Solid Scrap Basket is overflowing!  I need to make something!

I need a tablerunner for my outdoor table and these colours just said spring/summer to me.  I have a pattern from a few years and I figured I would give it a go with all these yummy fabric scraps.  Now my tablerunner will be ready to use soon as the outdoor furniture goes back on the deck in the spring.  I have lots of time to get it quilted.
The pattern I used is called "Cherry Pickin'" by Brenda/Barb Designs.  I omitted the appliqued cherries.

The floral fabric that I fussy-cut  for the centre 6 1/2" square is "Zinnia Garden" by Patty Young.  I have been hoarding a metre of this beauty for two years and decided it was time  to cut into it.

Another scrappy project.....Selvedges from African fabrics were given to me, so I sewed them together in colour sets and then cut squares from those sets.  raw-edge appliqued them to the background square, a little straight line quilting and Boom! a throw cushion.

For the back, envelope style with a selvedge strip sewn to the overlap edge.  tuck in a pillow form, Done!

I adore my scraps and selvedges so much.

Hope you have time to make something today.  Thanks for stopping by!
