WIP on The Needle and Thread Network

Another Wednesday has rolled around very quickly.  I have two projects in progress that I am working on this week.  The first one is a wallhanging that I created from leftover pieces of my Puzzle quilt.  I did have to purchase some Kona Ash to finish up the design. For batting, I am using a lovely piece of Quilters Dream.    On the back I used a Riley Blake grey and white zigzag extrawide piece of backing.  I am using Guterman 50# thread in a very light grey, with a 80/12 Superior Titanium needle.  Since I felt that I wimped out with the quilting on my Puzzle quilt, I am doing intense pebbling in freemotion on this one.  It will take a while but as long as everything is going well with the quilting, I don't mind. I didn't get a pic of the quilt top before I started the quilting so this is just a sneak peek so far. Plus, it's kind of a surprise for my son.  He is moving into a new house and needs something to hang on the wall in the dining room.  I think he will just love this.

I also started up a new project.  This is called  "Hugs and Kisses" by Jaybird Quilts.  I purchased the Lazy Angle Ruler, as suggested by the pattern, and found it made the cutting very quick and easy.   This is one of my picks for The Library Challenge QuiltAlong.  I used a Kaffe Fassett jelly roll that I have had for a long time and also some gorgeous Kona Chartreuse. I will not buy one of these KF jelly rolls again.  I love the fabric so much but working with the pinked edge strips made accuracy very difficult. And I love to be accurate! And some of the strips were very crooked.
I plan on quilting feathers in the diamonds.

I plan on sewing up these blocks into a top on Saturday.  That is when the next Sew-in for the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild will take place.  For this sew-in, I will host the members/guests at my home.  I am so looking forward to having a great time .  Please get in touch if you would like to attend.  New members/guests are very, very welcome.

I am linking up with The Needle and Thread Network.  Drop by and check out what everyone is doing this week.

Hope you get some quilting done today!
