A Quilty-Knitty Weekend

The very first Sew-In of the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild was a quilty success!  What fun we had.  I took along my video camera hoping to get some candid shots but I totally forgot to charge the battery so no photos from me..darn.  But if you click here  you can see some shots that Adrienne, our president,  took showing us all hard at work.   I worked on getting my son's flannel quilt sewn together (he lovingly calls it his"felt quilt"!) and I also finished sewing together my "Slices". I haven't decided what I will do with this yet. Tote bag?  machine cover?  Large cushion?  It's 24" square-ish
We all made progress on projects and are looking forward to our next get-together later this month.

That was on Saturday.  On Sunday afternoon, Knitty Sister and I went to Dartmouth Yarns for a workshop on how to arm-knit...yes, knitting using just your arms, no needles...too much fun. Here's a You-Tube video on arm knitting if interested.  I made a cowl.  I used the most gorgeous yarn.  I can't find the ballband and I can't remember what it is called but I can find out if you would like to know.   It is a super bulky and the reds are amazing.  It came in several colours.

Today, I am working on sewing rows together and getting my son's quilt into a flimsy so I can get it quilted and gifted.  More snow tomorrow!  This will make three Wednesday's in a row that we have had a snowstorm.

I am linking up with The Needle and Thread Network for WiP Wednesday
