What's Happening?

In case you were thinking of attending the very first meeting of the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild (MMQG), please note that there has been a change of venue.  You can visit the MMQG blog for info.  You will also find the link for the video conferencing capability in the same post.  Hope to see you there!  I have my name-tag all ready to go

I've been super-motivated and sewing up a storm.  Only most things I am working on are for Christmas gifts, so I can't show. I made  knitting project bag for myself.  I finally cut up some of my Kaffe Fassett fabrics.  I love how this bag turned out and it went together a lot faster than the first one I made.
I have just about finished knitting the cowl that I have shown in my bag.  Just need to cast off and sew it up and it will be ready to wear. The pattern for this cowl is a simple yarn over-slip stitch that the yarn shop owner gave me when I bought the wool. I have forgotten the name of the wool but I can find out if interested.
See the little yellow foam earplug on the end of the needle with all the stitches? ..  put on the end of your needle so the stitches don't fall off .  I hate when that happens!

While I am talking about knitting, I thought you might like to see what Knitty Sister has been up to lately.  Here is her latest cowl.
  And her latest sweater...just gorgeous.
One cabled mitt...more to come

And more birthday gifts....made especially for me by my sweet blogging friend, Sheila
A gorgeous crazy quilted fabric postcard...how special.  I love it so much.

and this sweet little door hanger made from wool, with appliques and handstitching...which is now hanging on my sewing machine so I can see it all the time. Thanks so much Sheila.  Love them both.  xox

I am  sorting scraps for my newest quilt project.  More on that next time.

I am linking up with The Needle and Thread Network.  Stop by and check it out or add your Canadian blog too.

I am also linking up with Heather at Books and Quilts for Needlework Tuesday.
