What"s Happening

Since last week's post,  I was able to get the two borders sewn on "Huggable Me"so it is now ready to get quilted.  This photo is quite washed out but in real life it is very pastel pretty.   I have the backing all ready but I think I need to go shopping for a batting.  My stash of battings is all queen-sized right now and I hate to cut one up to use for a smaller project  This quilt measure 45" x 55".  You can read about it here.
I also finished the last border, the braid, for My Darlene's Mystery Quilt.  It measures 98" x 108" and I am so pleased with it.  The braid border was such fun to make and it attached perfectly.  I did stay-stitch the edges just to save myself any grief with stretching and I was so glad that I did that.  I am not sure yet what will happen with this quilt, or where it will end up.
The 2013 Prospect Raffle Quilt
Last Sunday was the Lobster Supper in the little village where I grew up, Prospect.  Lots of tickets were sold on the raffle quilt to help raise money for the community.  Drawing is in October.   You can see the two blocks that I made, second row centre and bottom left.  Each block is an original creation by a different local resident.  It is handquilted by the group.  Below is one that I thought was super creative.  Love the crocheted sea creatures and sea plants.

I am linking up with The Needle and Thread Network so stop by and check out all the Canadian creativity.
