my Knitted tea cozy to fit my 6 cup Brown Betty |
Five years ago, my youngest sister, forever named "Knitty Sister", lamented to me that she didnt have a passion in her life, like I did with my quilting. So, of course, I tried to bring her over to the Quilty Side, but to no avail... she was just not interested in quilting. So, I said to her, "Remember, when you were younger( 20 years previous), you used to knit Lopi sweaters?" Oh yes, she replied...so we signed up for a class at a local yarn shop. I tagged along, for support. I had very little interest in knitting at the time...Next thing you know, she is totally inspired and knitting like a crazy person. She is a natural knitting genius. She can knit standing on her head! Meanwhile, poor old me....five years later....many projects...I still cant knit. I find it very difficult. I dont really know why I persist. I must love it!
So....I joined my Knitty Sister's knitting group recently. The tea cozy in the photo is what they were all working on when I joined just before Christmas. I finished mine today. Made with Noro Silk Garden. It's not near perfect but I made it and I love it. I am going to take a quilt to work on next time we meet and maybe I can get a few of them to come over to the Quilty Side!
