Can't remember the last time I have had a day to myself...Seriously! When I say "to myself", I mean, I don't have to drive anybody..anywhere... and no one is demanding my time... I don't have to stop what I am doing (quilting related). Sounds a bit selfish...at least that is the way I usually think. But, hey, what about me....I just turned 60 years old and that's the way I am thinking lately. I deserve to be able to say "NO". But today I said "YES" I am sewing and if you want to join in, that is wonderful, but I am staying in my quilting room all day.
Here's what I have been doing...
Michele from
The Quilting Gallery put a call out for quilters to make a wonky scrappy log cabin block to be made into quilts to comfort those affected by Hurricane Sandy. I live on the Atlantic Coast so I know about hurricanes. I have lived through a few in my many days and they are a horrifying experience. It's the least I can do. As I was sitting on the floor deciding (loving) on which scraps I would use for this project QuiltyHub snapped a pic. And, I was lamenting to him about the decline of my "SCRASH" and his eyes rolled so far back in his head I thought he must be possessed! The pic above only shows half of my scrap bins!
I also, made an awesome
French Onion Soup recipe that I found on Chatelaine site.
